why did j.randy taraborelli wrte this dumb book? half the stuff in this boook doesnt even sound like anyting i think would happen to anyone let alone michael jackson. i know michael jackson was alittle strange but this book puts him in a bad light. somethings in here are entertaining though like the stuff about tatum oneal. other than tha the book basically is mean spirited some might say but im not afraid to say it sucks. -- why?
This book probably tells it better than others. Michael and the rest of the Jackson family were not able to hide or avoid some things as much as in other readings. There will always be those secrets, but who doesn't have secrets. I know I do and I'm not telling. It's nobody's business. Being a true Michael Jackson fan I found this book to be upfront and honest. I truly enjoyed reading it and it made me realize that although very rich and very famous, Michael Jackson did not love himself. He turned a beautiful face into a clown-face. So sad... -- Appropriate Book Title

I have been reading this book for the past 4 days. I can't put it down. The book explains and documents intriguing and down right sad aspects of Michael's development that greatly affected his personality and development. From my knowledge of Michael, most of these stories were never before known to the public. The author has done a great job of creating the timeline of Michael's life and accurately documenting certain crucial events that I believe altered Michael's core personality. I believe that after reading this book, that Michael was as Katherine Hepburn says in the book 'the walking wounded'. The whole story of Michael's life reads like a greek tragedy. You want so badly for someone in his life to stand up to him and tell him where he is going wrong in his life choices. Later he becomes so sheltered and secluded that I truly believe he loses all touch with what it even means to be a human being. I'd like to thank the author for answering so many questions that I've always had about Michael. I've always wondered why he never had girlfriends, never married and always questioned his sexual orientation - the author attempts to answer all those questions. I sat in my bed last night and pondered about Michael, I was raised listening to Michael's music and hearing all the tabloid gossip and rumors and always wondered why such an attractive man would even consider so much plastic surgery, to the point where he ruined his natural good looks, that always astounded me even to this day. He was such a great talent, but such a confused man, he had a tormented soul, through and through. I always wished there was just one person in his life that could have been able to reach him, to influence him positively on a personal level, I mean, that is why we have friends and family in our lives right? to help us stay on the right track? to give us guidance? Oh it just breaks my heart. Michael truly broke my heart because I just wanted him to be okay. I definitely recommend reading this book, it has helped me come to terms with Michael as a person and to better be able to accept his death. There were and still are, so many unanswered questions regarding Michael, I don't think many of the questions can ever be answered, and that is so unreal to me I just don't understand. Michael gave us all so much love, everything he created musically was out of love, but I think the overall lesson I see is that love does not conquer all, as much as we want it to, it simply isn't enough, I wish Michael would have been able to realize that developing yourself in all aspects benefits us as people and makes us stronger. We can all learn valuable lessons from his life and hopefully all of us can grow and prosper.
Rest in peace Michael. -- Spellbound
