Rusty Dennis is the mother of Rocky, a seriously deformed but extremely intelligent and emotionally warm child. Rusty is a no-nonsense mother whose wild lifestyle is often at odds with her tenderness and protectiveness towards Rocky. She is determined that Rocky be given the same chances and happiness that everyone else takes for granted. The true story of Rocky Dennis (Eric Stoltz) is a heart-breaking movie that pulls absolutely no punches. Cher is excellent as Stoltz's drug-addicted mother who is so good with him, but so poor with most everyone else. Not to be missed by anyone with an interest in true life stories. Highly recommended. A triumph in storytelling. -- Mask (Director's Cut, Widescreen)
what a show i have seen this like 17 times every time i forget the end tell it the end -- sad
It's the classic story about youngsters in love. Boy and girl go to camp. Boy impresses girl with wit and intelligence. Girl falls in love. Boy falls in love. Boy's face looks like someone fried it in a chunk off of John Merrick's lower back.
Very quality movie. Also, re: Laura Dern: I'd tap it. -- Ugly kid, beautiful movie
This was a movie that I haven't saw in a long time I bought this for someone else but this movie was really good I was happy that I was able to watch it thanks -- The mask
I've been a fan of this movie since my mom rented it on vhs. Now, not only is there a sweet dvd version, but also this features the Director's Cut which features a Bruce Springsteen soundtrack instead of the Bob Seger music, some extra scenes (not deleted scenes, but original scenes edited back into the movie), an interview with Peter Bogdanovich discussing the differences between the versions, what the real relationship was like working with Cher, etc., and Director's commentary. For film fans this is the version to buy. -- Director's Cut
